Head of Research at, and the co-founder of, the National Centre of Defence and Security Awareness (NCDSA). As a professional, Dmitri specialises in communication security and cognitive resilience, as well as studying hostile external influence and hybrid threats to democratic processes.
In 2011, Dmitri co-founded the Russian-language educational programme Sinu Riigi Kaitse (“Defence of Your State”), which aims to strengthen social cohesion in the society of Estonia through informing its Russian-speaking community about the development of national security and defence. Dmitri is also a co-founder of the international expert and cooperation platform Resilience League for the exchange of skills and knowledge against hostile disinformation and societal polarisation in the Baltic states and Ukraine. In 2018, he directly contributed to the development and launching of the information portal “Стражи Эстонии” (“Guardians of Estonia”).
In research undertaken by the NCDSA, Dmitri Teperik focuses on analysing social media, media consumption and identification of cognitive and social vulnerabilities of various groups within Estonian society.
