Public figure active in the sphere of information security; co-founder and director of the National Centre of Defence and Security Awareness (NCDSA). Grigori runs action-oriented educational and information projects aiming to increase the awareness of the Russian-speaking population about Estonia’s security and defence.
In 2011, he headed the public information and educational programme Sinu Riigi Kaitse (Defence of Your State), which focused on spreading information about Estonia’s defence among Russian-speaking youth. In 2015, he became a co-founder of the international expert platform Resilience League, aimed at developing competencies against informational aggression, as well as societal polarisation and radicalisation. In 2018, Grigori Senkiv launched the information portal “Стражи Эстонии” (“Guardians of Estonia”), whose objective lies in providing coverage in the Russian language of the operations of the Estonian Defence Forces, the Estonian Defence League and the country’s military allies, as well as informing interested parties about our country’s security and defence policy, conscription service, the NATO alliance, the role of the European Union and other related issues.
As a renowned expert, he has taken part in a range of studies focusing on the spread of disinformation in social networks in Estonia, the Baltic states and Ukraine, completed analyses of the attitude of the Russian-speaking population of Estonia to the country’s defence policy, and studied the Ukrainian experience of countering hybrid threats. In 2015–2018, Grigori took part in the work of the NATO Information Operations research group.
